In a highly sensational .performance at Madison Square Garden to-night Jock McAvoy knocked out Le e c Risko, the world s nmldle-wci„Ut champion, after two minutes 48 seconds of the first round of what was scheduled to he a 10-round bout, Ihe title was not at stake, as both men weighed more than the 160-pound limit. Risko never got started, or, for that matter, landed a- single blow. McAvoy rushed him .at the opening bell, and' knocked him to tlie floor with his first punch ; but Risko regained hi s feet without the count. Then McAvoy knocked him down six times for counts ranging from three to eight, until the last time the American took the count of ten sitting on the floor, dazed. McAvoy weighed 12st o,lb, and Risko list 7111 b.
