AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB. GOLDEN CHANCE WINS VILLIERS STAKES. SYDNEY, December 21. The Australian Jockey Club’s summer meeting was held, to-day. Results: December Nursery Handicap, of £OO sovs; for two-year-olds; five furlongs and a, half—Bonnie Legion 8.5 V M. McCarten) 1, Korimako 8.2 2, Plutus 7.7 3. There were 19 starters, including Lady Ida, Ilium, The Palmist and Lady Eleanor. Won by three lengths; a length between second and 1 tliii d. Time, 1.12. Villiers Stakes, of 1000 sovs; one mile —Golden Chance 7.2 (J. O’Sullivan) 1, Windbird 7.13 2, Whittingnam 9.3 3. There were 11 starters, including Sporting Blood, Gay Blonde, Cherry King and Lnnpris. Won by half a length; three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, 1.38#. Holiday Handicap, of 500 sovs; one mile and a quarter—'Vice Royal 8.3 (W. Parsons) 1, Mr Kerry 8.12 and King Gee 7.5 (dead-heat) 2. Tnere were 12 starters, including Miss Nottava and Parquet. Won* by a Ic’d. Time, 2.5^. High-weiglit Handicap, of 500 sovs; one mile —Merrie Miller 8.5 (.'-I. McCarten) 1, Celebrate 9.5 2, Wykeham 8.10 3. Won by half a head; threequarters of a length between se-’ond and third, Time, 1.382. Money Spi was unplaced in the second division of the Novice Handicap. In this event Polka got on to the heels of another horse and came d'nvn. bringing down Blood Money and nearly upsetting Money Spi. Po-ika and Blood Money were seriously injured, and had to be destroyed. The jockeys, R. McGregor and A. Gough, were removed to hospital, the former with concussion. Windbird Unlucky. Sporting writers, referring to the Villiers Stakes, declare that Windbird was unluckly to be beaten. Twice he had to lie checked in the running, although Golden Chance finished with great dash, and won convincingly. Sporting Blood and Gay Blonde were prominent early and looked dangerous for a time, as dicl Limyris, but Oerry King did not run up to expectations. MQONEE VALLEY RACES. NEW ZEALAND SUCCESSES. MELBOURNE December 21. At the Moonce Valley Compensation race meeting to-day; results were:— Juvenile Handicap, of 300 sovs; for two-year-olds ; five furlongs—l irst Division: Grfv ißrunette 9.5 (A. Reed) 1, Golden Glow 7.9 (W. Elliott) 2, Patra 8.2 (IK. Voitre) 3. There were 13 starters! Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 1.4. Second Division: Remittent 8.3 (C. Cox) 1, Ardenalis 7.11 (E. Fox), 2, Scotch Lassie 8.1 (K. Voitre) 3. There were 13 starters, including Gay Lot. Won by half a length. Time, 1.33. Lady Primrose and Lobengula were unplaced in the Three-year-old Handicap. Cape Morn was unplaced in the Essendon Higli-weight Handicap, and First Song was unplaced in the Glenroy Welter Plate. "
