THE WEATHER.
WEEK-END CONDITIONS FINE. Conditions in Ashburton were again fine over the week-end. After a mild night, to-day was cloudy and warm. A south-easterly wind was blowing. The maximum temperature yesterday was 78 degrees, compared with 73.6 on Saturday. The minimum last night was 57.3 degrees, and on Saturday 7 night 49.7 degrees. The barometer at 9 a.m. bad risen to 30.12 inches from 29.85 on Saturday. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: A cyclone is still located in the south central portion of the Tasman Sea, but is almost stationary and apparently 7 filling up.’ An anticyclone covers New Zealand. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: — Light to moderate and variable winds with north-easterlies predominating. Weather mainly 7 fair to fine and mild to warm, but with considerable low clouds near coast and morning fog in places. Seas slight or moderate. *
