FARM COMPETITION
JUDGING AT ASHBURTON.
THE ITINERARY ARRANGED. The committee making arrangements for the farm competition which will be held under the auspices of the Ashburton Agricultural. and Pastoral Association on December 16 and 17, met yesterday. Mr John Montgomery, of Christchurch, at whose suggestion the competition was inaugurated, was present. l The judges will be: Messrs Colin Mclntosh (West Eyreton) and R. Sinclair (Waimate), with whom Mr Montgomery will be associated, j The itinerary for the judging will be as follows: December 16—Inspect the farms of J. Crawford, F. H. Hookings and A. M. Stephens (Lagmiior), Gordon Brown and H. Brown (Seaview), C. Brand (Wakanui) and lioatten Brothers (Elgin). December 17 J. Mclntyre (Greenstreet), J. Fleming (Springfield), R. J. Low (Higlibank), L. O. Oakley (Hatfield), J. Stewart and J. G. McLachlan (Rakaia), and J. L. Connolly (Overdale). Judging will be done under' the following headings: Crops, stock, grass, general tillage, buildings and equipment, fences, gates and ditches.
