OBITUARY
FATHER THOMAS WALTER PRICE WELL-KNOWN CANTERBURY PRIEST. (Special to the “ Guardian.’’) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The Rev. Father Thomas Walter Price, one of the best-known priests of the Diocese of Christchurch, has died, aged 62. Up to two months ago, Father Price, who was a member of the Diocesan Council, was in chaise at Methven. He had been suffering from an attack of pneumonia. Father Price was in charge of the Methven parish for nearly 20 years, and was very highly esteemed in that district. Those in need found in him a ready helper, and his work in the parish was greatly appreciated by people of all denominations. Prior to coming to New Zealand, Father Price was a priest in England. After his arrival in the Dominion he was attached to the Christchurch Cathedral, was assistant at Rangiora, and had charge at Hawarden. Father Price had been a patient in Lewisham Hospital for six weeks, and Father Brown has been relieving at Methven.
