COUNTY CENTRES
(From Our Own Correspondents.) METHVEN. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Methven Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held on Wednesday evening, the N.G. (Bro. W. Currie.) presiding over a good attendance. Sick pay was passed in favour of three members, and two others were reported on the sick list. Three members received degrees. It was decided to pay a visit to the Rakaia Lodge ait its next meeting. At the close of the lodge, supper was served. RAKAIA A meeting of the congregation of St. Mark’s Church was held in the, schoolroom, the vicar (the Rev. H. J. W. Knights) presiding. The following stallholders were appointed for the garden party to be held at the vicarage on December 12: —•Variety stall, Mrs Breach; bran tub, Misses Dixon, E. Kidd, M. Armstrong; sweets and fruit salad, Miss Edgington; Christmas tree, Mrs Belirnes; refreshments, , Mrs Knights and a committee of women. It was decided to hold side-shows, competitions, games, dancing on the lawn in the evening, and half-hour concerts at intervals. It was decided to hold a poster competition.
