DESCENT IN STORM

IMPERIAL AIRWAYS MACHINE. LONDON, October 22. Two Sydney people, Alfred Charles Dowson, 57, insurance agent, and Jeannette Buddon, 24, nurse, were among the passengers in an Imperial Airways machine which crashed near Zwettel while on the way to London from Vienna, says the Vienna correspondent of the British United Press. The aeroplane ran into a hailstorm and the wings became covered in ice, necessitating a forced landing in a clearing in a forest. Mr Dowson and Miss Buddon joined the aeroplane at Budapest. The occupants, including a third passenger, the pilot and wireless operator, suffered scratches.
