THE STAFFING DIFFICULTY. (Per Press Association). WAIHI, November 6. The question of the confirmation ol the appointment of (Dr. Archibald Jenkins as medical superintendent of the Waihi Hospital, following the resignation of Dr. L. R. Hethenhgton, cam© before a special meeting of trie Waihi Hospital Board. , Letters from the Minister of Health, (Sir Alexander Young), and the Direc-tor-General of Health (Dr. Watt), were considered. 7 . Dr. Watt suggested that before dealing finally with the Board’s recent application for the approval of the appointment of Dr. Jenkins, the matter should be reconsidered by the Board,, with a view to determining whether ft , should re-engage Dr. Hetherington as superintendent. It was considered, continued Dr. Watt, that unless the suggestion was given effect to the Board will continue to find itself faced with extreme difficulty in obtaining medical and nursing assistance to enable the work of the hospital to be properly carried out, whereas the difficulty would disappear if Dr. Hetherington resumed duties. The meeting, in committee, discussed the suggested proposals of Dr. Watt, with Dr. Hetherington, and arrived at a certain decision, not available to the press, for confirmation ?at a meeting of the Board next Tuesday. *
