THE WEATHER
DULL AND MISTY TO-DAY. There was a, drop in the barometric pressure again this morning, the reading at 9 a.m. .being 29.43 inches, compared with 29.57 inches yesterday morning. Conditions to-day were dull and cold, with occasional drifts of misty rain. The wind blew from the south, and the iveather appeared unsettled. The thermometer yesterday recorded a maximum temperature of 61.1 degrees and a minimum of 42.3 degrees.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General inference: A depression is crossing the Dominion, and this morning low centres were located respectively west of Auckland and off the east coast of the South Island. An anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea.
The forecast for the east coast ftf the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follpws:— Moderate to strong southerly winds. Weather cold and cloudy, with scattered rain. Seas rather rough.
