WINDING UP ORDER
A DUNEDIN APPLICATION.

DUNEDIN, November 1
A further echo of the winding up of the firm of Oswald M. Smith and Co. was heard in the Supreme Court when an order was made by Mr Justice Kennedy winding up Star Stores, Ltd. Mr Pattison, in supporting the application, said that the company was a subsidiary of Smith and Co., which had been wound up. Of a capital of £IO,OOO all the shares but one were held by Smith and Co. Star Stores, Ltd., had about 50 shops in the South Island, but had ceased to cany on business. Its indebtedness was entirely due to the liquidation of the Smith Company. A similar order was made in respect to Star Stores, Ltd., Timaru.
