BRITISH CABINET

REPORTED POST FOR MR BDEN.

ALLOCATIONS NOT CONSIDERED.

(United Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) LONDON, November 1. The Conservatvie Central Office states that the reports of Mr Eden’s removal from the position of Minister for League- of Nations Affairs, are without foundation. Mr Baldwin has not considered the allocation of posts in the new Cabinet.

This announcement refers to a statement by the political correspondent of the “Manchester Guardian” that the Government is proposing to abolish Mr R. A. Eden’s post as Minister for League Affairs after the elections, when the Cabinet will be reconstructed. He will be made either Secretary for War or Secretary for the Dominions.

“The abolition of the post would not imply any change in the Gov eminent’s foreign policy or any weakening of the Government’s support to tlie league, the correspondent stated. “The post has been an anomaly from the beginning, leading to a suspicion of divided control. Moreover, it never seemed likely, that a strong Foreign Secretary like Sir Samuel Hoare would tolerate it for any length of time. \The Givernment has apparently come to the conclusion that the post can now be dropped with benefit to the direction of foreign policy.”
