WELL-KNOWN BOXER EXECUTED.
MRS VAN DER ELST PROTESTS
(United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, October 29. Delfontaine was executed at Wands-, worth Prison.
Mrs Van der Elst held another demonstration against the death sentence. She also arranged for a, loudspeaker in a wireless van to broadcast hymns in the neighbourhood of the prison. Mis Van der Elst told the crowd that England had executed another insane man.
A number of boxers waited outside the prison.
A London message on September 16 stated that his plea that he was punch drunk fr6m over-fighting and was netresponsible for his action, failed at the Old Bailey when Raymond Bousquet, who fought under the name of De 1 - fontaine, was sentenced to death for shooting a girl. It was alleged thau he was jealous.
