The Governor-General (Viscount Galway) and Lady Galway and a party will be passengers in the Government steamer liiatai when she leaves Wellington next Tuesday on her round of visits to southern lighthouses. They will return to Wellington in the vessel .‘jbout three weeks later.
Sister Mildred, who has been representing the Ashburton branch of the Methodist Women’s (Missionary Union at the Dominion conference in New Plymouth, has returned to Ashburton.
Air I. M. Hamilton, who has beeh attached to the Ashburton branch of Pyne, Could, Guinness, Ltd., for some years, will join the staff of Russell and Co., Ltd., as accountant within the next fortnight.
Mr G. H. Nicholls, who has been inspector to the Christchurch Drainage Board for some years, arrived in Ashburton yesterday to, take up a position on the staff of Mr W. H. Amos. Mr Nicholls was some years ago in business in Ashburton.
