SOME CURRENT NUMBERS. Nash’s Pall Mall Magazine for August contains an article by the New Zealander, Hector Bolitho, entitled “The English Year,” the eighth of a series of interesting articles. He deals with the Island of Cowes; where the great yachting gathering is held. He describes the imprisonment of Charles the Martyr and the holiday home of Queen Victoria. Thero several other interesting special articles, nine short stories, and two novels, one complete and the other a serial. “Mystery and Detection,” for August and September, feature “Tales ol' a Man Hunter,” by Ex-Supt. A. T. Neil, described as the last of the original Big Four of Scotland Yard. Edgar Wallace and G. K. Chesterton are included in the authors whose works are drawn upon. The August number of “The Novel Magazine” provides fourteen stories by well-known authors, presenting a variety that will appeal to readers. The chief feature of “Screen Pictorial,” Britain’s only film monthly, is a souvenir album, “David Copperfield.” The other contents are such as will interest and instruct picture

goers. The current number of the “Efficiency Magazine” deals with subjects of interest and value to every business man. Among the articles are “The Need for Planning,” “When is a Sale Finished?” and “Keeping a Business Young.” These magazines weer received from Gordon and Gotch, Ltd., through Mr A. W. Hopkins.
