The Prime Minister (Mr J. A. Lyons) stated that Cabinet would soon take steps to deal with the Pacific shipping problem. “Freedom of trade in Australian and New Zealand ports while our ships are excluded from American coastal business cannot be allowed to continue indefinitely. Tire action to be taken by Australia and New Zealand will be determined after the managing direotor of the Union Steam Ship Company (Mr Falla) returns from abroad,” added Mr Lyons.
