The Massawa correspondent of the “News-Chronicle” says that an aerial tfiilway, similar to those used in mountain fighting on the Isongo front in Northern Italy in the Great War, is being’ constructed between Massawa and Asmara. The cable will swing supplies, including fairly heavy guns, across the valleys, following the most direct route. Its length will be about 40 miles, compared with 60 miles of existing steam railway.
BELIEVED NON-EXISTENT.
CHIEFS’ REPORTED SURRENDER.
(Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) ADDIS ABABA, October 28. A communique states that the Government has reason to believe that the chiefs who the Italians reported had surrendered are non-existent. Their states are entirely unknown.
