ASHBURTON STOCK MARKET.

MORE SHORN SHEEP PENNED. VALUES SLIGHTLY EASIER. The quality of the entry at the Ashburton saleyards to-day for the weekly stock market was above the average and there was a good proportion of prime shorn sheep. Although remaining firm, rates showed a slight easing tendency. Few pens of fat ewes in the wool were offered, the best price being 27s lOd for four on behalf of a client. Mr H. J. McCosker (Riverside) received 24s 4d for nine. Shorn ewes made up to 21s Id for seven sold on account of Mr R. Bebbington (Winchmore) who also received 20s 7d for a similar number. Woolly wethers made up to 2Ss lOd, Mrs E. M. Begg (Wakanui) topping the market with six at this price. A client obtained 27s 7d for three. Top price for shorn wethers was 24s Id for seven from Mi* W. Prebble, snr (Winchmore). Mr L. Maginness (Longheach) .sold four at 22s lOd. Six shorn hoggets entered by Mr W. Prebble made 20s 4d while Mr J. Bruce (Seafield) sold five at 19s 7d. Ine in the wool from Mr H. J. McCosker made 23s 6d. Prices realised up to 12.15, o’clock were as follow: Fat ewes (in the wool) —On account of H. J. McCosker (Riverside), 9 at 24s 4d; M. J. Dwyer (Winchmore) 1 at 19s- 9d; Alington Brothers (Seafield), 2 at 22s 7d', 4 at 18s lOd; clients 5 at 20s 4d, 3 at 21s 7d, 4 at 27s lOd, 4 at 22s Id. Shorn ewes—On account of F.
