BISHOP CONSECRATED

CATHOLIC. SOLOMONS ISLANDS. /Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 21. In the presence of a largo congregation at the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, the Rt. R.ev. Dr. Jean Marie Aubin, S.M., was consecrated as Catholic Bishop of the Southern Solomons. Archbishop O’Shea (Metro*politan of New Zealand), Bishop Whyte, of Dunedin, and Bishop Brodie, of Christchurch, were present at the ceremony. The consecrating prelate at the Pontifical Mass in the morning was Archbishop O’Shea, who was supported by Bishops Whyte and Brodie, with the Rt. Rev. Father Connelly as assistant priest. Solemn Pontifical Benediction was held in the evening, when Bishop Brodie delivered the sermon.
