M. Laval had lons conversations with the British and Italian Ambassadors. , It is understood that ho has not yet decided how to answer Britain, but official circles are confident that it will be an unconditional “yes.”
APPLYING OF SANCTIONS.
BELGIUM AND HOLLAND
(Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) GENEVA, October 18
Belgium is the first State to latify the financial sanctions, of which she announced acceptance, in addition to the embargo on arms. Representatives of the British Dominions conferred with M!r R- -V Eden to hear a general review of the situation. Holland has announced that she will rigorously apply all sanctions.
ARMAMENTS FOR ABYSSINIA. BRITISH VESSELS ON THE WAY
PORT SAID, October 17. A British vessel carrying arms and munitions for Abyssinia passed thiougli the Suez Canal to-day, .and another is expected shortly.
NO BOMBING OF CAPITAL.
INSTRUCTIONS' TO ITALIANS. ROME, October 18. The Government has instructed the military authorities in East Africa not to bomb from the air Addis Ababa or Diredawa, unless they become bases for troops or war material.
