SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.

FIXTURES TOR TO-MORROW. All three of the Ashburton County Cricket Association’s senior grade competition matches to-morrow will bp played in Ashburton. On the other hand, the three junior matches will take place in country centres. The Baptist and St. Stephen’s Ten-

nis Clubs will open their seasons on their courts. The Timvald Cycling Club will hold a 21-mile road race at Timvald tomorrow, and this will be followed by the cluo’s annual meeting. Entries for the Ashburton labour Day Gala sports will close to-morrow. Support is forthcoming satisfactorily, and all events promise to be well patronised. The Ashburton Golf Club will hold its closing day to-morrow, when an 18hole mixed foursome medal match will be played, players to arrange their own partners and scorers. .Prizes will be presented during the afternoon. Members of the Ashburton Croquet Club will play trophy games.
