The British United Press special correspondent at Harrar says: “The Italians are using chlorine! gas bombs/’ declared Dr. Robert Hockman (head of the American hospital at Addis Ababa), when interviewed at Harrar after his return from the Abyssinian headquarters at'Jijiga, where he established a field hospital. Dr. Hockman confirmed the reports that Abyssinians have been wounded by explosive bullets. He added that tho field hospital had treated thousands of victims of bombing and machine-gun-ning also for scurvy which had broken out* owing to the ■ shortage of fresh foods.
