NEW BUILDING
PREMISES IN HAVELOCK STREET FRONTAGE OF 45 FEET. SUITES OF OFFICES AND ROOMS. An indication of the improvement of business in Ashburton is given in the announcement jnade to a “Guardian” reporter to-day that plans have been completed for the erection of a modern block of buildings in Havelock Street East on the eastern side of Mr It. Stephenson’s auction rooms. In view, however, of the Abyssinian disturbance, the commencement of building has been temporarily delayed, but the work will be proceeded with in the near future. To be built in brick, the block will be of two storeys, and! the facings will be in plaster. There will be a road frontage of approximately 45 feet, and the depth will be 60 feet. It will contain rooms and suites of offices. This will greatly improve the appearance of the street, and should enhance the value of- other properties in the vicinity.
