MONTREAL, October 7. A Winnipeg message says that the bodies of Royal Canadian Mounted Constable D. Shaw, and Municipal. Constable William Wainwright were round in the bush near Benito Village, which they left on Friday, escorting tliree suspects in connection with a bank robbery. Both had. been shot in the hack. Their automobile and guns were missing. Posses of citizens and police are engaged in a manhunt.

BATTLE IN MOTOR-CARS.

POLICEMAN AND BANDIT KILLED. (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) , MONTREAL, October S. A message from Calgary (Alberta) states that the pursuit of three prisoners who killed two policemen at Benito, Manitoba, led to a battle mear Calgary in which Royal Canadian Mounted policeman T. S. Wallace was shot dead and Constable G. C. Harrison was critically wounded. One bandit was shot, dead and the other two were critically wounded; •

A fusillade greeted the police car which encountered the bandits’ motorcar unexpectedly on a country road.
