ITALY’S FORMAL PROTEST.
ALL POSSIBLE RESERVATIONS.
GREAT ACTIVITY AT GENEVA
(Received This Day, 11.45 a.m. ) LONDON, October 8.
Reports from Geneva stated that Italy officially protested against tne decision of the Council, and makes all possible reservations regarding her attitude in the future.
There was great activity at Geneva to-day, preparations being made for the resumed meeting of the Assembly to-morrow.
Mr R. A. Eden had a conversation with M. Laval and Dr. Benes (Czechoslovakia) who is spoken of as possible chairman of the committee which is generally expected to be set up to coordinate the measures to dc undertaken by League in fulfilment of obligations under Article XVI. of the Covenant.
The committee will probably be composed of representatives of the’ Council and Assembly.—British Official Wireless.
