ETHIOPIANS FIGHTING MADLY.
EMPEROR’S ORDERS DISOBEYED.'
(Received This Day, 12.35 P-m.; ADDIS ABABA, October A ■ Mr Noel Monks (“Sun-Heralds correspondent) says that disobeying the Emperor’s Orders, 500,000• Abyssinian warriors have flung themselves at the invading Italians on the northern fi ontier and are fighting like madmen to retrieve the ground given up, while the Emperor’s son-in-law, Ras Mane Selassie Engsha, with 15,000 men lias actually invaded Eritrea.
The most startling news to-day is that, swooping down on three sides, the Abyssinians reoapturea Adowa in the same manner as they did'6o years ago. Although this information was received . from high Government officials it is not confirmed.
The Abyssinians have gone war mad and because their action threatens the Emperor’s cherished hopes for peace, the veteran YVar Minister, Ras Moulougheta. who fought at Adowiv w years ago, is expected to leave for the front immediately with the object ot restoring discipline, but leaders here think that matters are now out ot latest reports from.-Ras- Kassa are that with 75,000 Tigre warriors he is approaching Aksum. It is reported from Ogaden that the Italians are . making progress in their advance toward Jijiga and Harrar, but they have not yet met the vanguard ol '400,000 Abyssinians who have taken up positions on that front.
