MOTOR-CYCLES COLLIDE.
THREE PERSONS INJURED. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, October 7. Two motor-cycles, one carrying a pillion,rider, were involved in a serious crash with a ear on Mount Eden. The motor-cyclists were riding parallel at a 'fair pace from the city and observed too late that a car from the opposite direction' was turning off Mount Eden into Ruatangi road. There was a toiible impact. Three persons were taken to hospital, H. J. Barley a motor-cyclist, suffered a fractured right leg; A. E. Adams, who was riding on the pillion, suffered a fractured leg; and It. Laver, the other motorcyclist, received concussion and foot injuries.
A girl, standing at the comer, was knocked down and suffered minor injuries.
MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED.
TAUMARUNUI, October 7
Mr Frank William Lewis was killed while riding a motor-cycle when he struck a stationary motor-lorry laden with timber near the Taringamotu sawmill. The lights of the lorry had failed and the driver had drawn to the side of the road and was adjusting them when the motor-cyclist crashed into the timber, and suffered injuries to his face and chest which proved fatal. Mr Lewis was 28 years old, and was employed as a farm labourer. His parents liye in Feilding.
