At the B&Jlarat pompetitions in the national song, Mr Ray Trewern, of Wellington 92 points, was first. In winning the national song, Mr Trewern ais • won the vocal championship with an aggregate of 19 points. Anthony Strange (Melbourne), 17 points, was second. The vocal championship carries the Governor-GeneraTs gold medal.
IN FINAL OF ARIA CONTEST.
MELBOURNE. October 7
Mr Trewern was sixth on the list of the eight competitors to qualify in the ‘Sun” aria contest at Ballarat. The final will be held in Melbourne on Thursday. The prize is 120 guineas. His voice Was highly praised by the judge.
