FIGURES FOR THE COUNTY.
£6619 IN SIX MONTHS. A return showing the expenditure of the Ashburton County Council in the six months ended on September 30, presented to the Council yesterday afternoon, disclosed! that the total cost was £6619 11s 6d. Details of the total are as follow: No. 5 Scheme—County roads, £372 17s Id.
Bridges—£32 15s sd. Water supply—£3Bl 9s Bd. River protection—£9B3 3s sd. Drainage—£3B 17s. Reserves Clearing, fencing, etc. £2504 Is lid.
Miscellaneous—(Store yard £39 18s lid, supervision £37 12s 6d, being the chief items) £97 13s 3d. Other bodies—Military camp £32 16s, Mt. Somers Domain Board £9 15s 7d, Mt. Somers Cemetery £23 17s 9d; total £66 9s 4d!.
Holidays Anzac Day and Easter Monday £B2 7s Bd, King’s Jubilee bonus £IOO 5s 6d, King’s Jubilee Holiday £B9 6s sd, King’s Birthday £99 10s 2d, wet days, no work £605 4s lOd, sick pay £lO 8s 9d; total £987 3s 4d. Bonus—(Wages for fractional parts of days for which work is not required) £428 T4s Id.
No. 6C Scheme—Mayfield camp (subsidy received £270) £635 14s. No. 11 Scheme —Babbitting, Mt Hutt £9O 13s.
