SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.
, FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW. *> The summer sports season will commence in Ashburton to-morrow, when the cricket Reason will be opened by clubs for practice play. The association’s competitions will commence on October 12.
The Ashburton Croquet Club will open the season to-morrow also, and the Allenton Sports Club has arranged for its opening day to take place. This club will hold a social in the evening. The Methven Trotting Club will hold its meeting on the Mount Harding racecourse to-morrow, and it is anticipated there will be a very large attendance.
