OBITUARY

MR J. P. LUKE. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 3. The death of Mr John Pearce Luke, managing director of Luke Brothers, Ltd., engineers, and a prominent man in the commercial life of Wellington, occurred at Southend-on-Sea, England, on Wednesday. Mr Luke had arrived in England 10 days previously .on a health-recruiting trip. He was a member of the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, vice-presi-dent of the' Wellington Manufacturers’ Association, and a member of the Wellington Show Association, a member of the Technical College Board of Governors, and a member of numerous educational and commercial bodies.
