At the wool sales 10,514 bales were offered, including 6057 New Zealand, and about 8625 Australian and New Zealand] were sold. Merinos were cleared readily at full rates. Crossbreds were rather irregular, buyers being reluctant to follow the higher limits.
New Zealand greasy merinos Brancepeth sold up to 12Jd, with an average of lOd ; scoured Glentanner up to 24d, average 21 pi.
PIGS AND 1 POULTRY. THE ASHBURTON MARKET. Prices ruling for pigs and poultry in Ashburton to-day were as follow: — Poultry—Hens 3s 4d to 4s 7d, roosters Is 7d to 4s 7d, ducks 3s 4d to 3s 7d.
Pigs—Baconers £2 19s 6d, porkers £1 8s 6d, stores 17s to 255, weaners and slips 9s Cd to 16s.
