MINOR COUNTIES WELL BEATEN.
LONDON, Sept. 7. The match between the South Africans and the Minor Counties was won by South Africa by eight wickets. South Africa, in its first innings, made 394. Minor Counties, first innings 190 and, following on, 224. South Africa made 21 for the loss ot two wickets in the second innings.
ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET.
YORKSHIRE WIN CHAMPIONSHIP
LONDON, September 6. Yorkshire won the county cricket championship, this being their fourth championship in the past five years. Last year’s champions, Lancashire, filled "fourth position. Derbyshire, which last season, made a phenomenal advance to third place, have risen to second place. Details arc as follow, the figures representing the percentage scored of the possible points:—
