THE REV. RICHARD MORGAN.
ADDRESS FROM THE PRESBYTERY.
A handsomely prepared address of appreciation of the services of the Rev. Richard Morgan, who was stationed at Methven for a number of years and who has gone to Opotiki, has been presented by tbe Ashburton Presbytery. The address, which was signed by the Moderator, the clerk and members of Presbytery, read as follows : “We, the members of the Ashburton Presbytery, feel that we cannot allow you to depart from our midst without presenting you with a permanent token of our appreciation of your personal worth, and a lasting acknowledgement of the fine service you have rendered to the cause of Jesus Christ within and beyond the bounds of your parish. “Your manifestly genuine Christian character, your zealous and devoted Christian life, and your cheerful, earnest and thorough Christian service, have won the admiration and esteem, the affection and (gratitude of all your brethren in the Presbytery. “We would like to associate Mrs Morgan’s name with your own in our tribute. She has proved herself a very worthy helpmeet in all your life and labours, and she has done appreciated and useful work for the Presbyterial Association andJ also for the Presbyterian Bible Classes of the Asliburton County.
“While deeply regretting your departure from us, we rejoice in the fact that your unswerving and effective witness 'to Christian things will leave an abiding influence for good in all your spheres of labour. We would assure you that your yourselves and your service will long be happily remembered by your co-workers in Presbytery, Presbyterial Association and Bible Class District Committee, to all of will )h you have given such unstinted and valuable assistance.
“It is our sincere hope and prayer that you will both he long spared to continue in the service of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and that God’s richest blessing will always attend you and your family. May the Lord keep you, use you, apd reward you.”
