STATEMENT BY THE PRESIDENT,
INDUSTRY’S BREATHING SPELL

President Roosevelt declared at Hyde Park that the basic programme of .the New Deal, had been substantially completed and “a breathing spell for industry is here, .very decidedly so.” Ho further asserted that at the moment conditions were such as to offer promise of substantial widespread iecovery.
