Bennett) to-day • notified Tokio, through the Japanese Minister to Canada, that the commercial treaty of 1913 between the two countries will be abrogated unless Japan discontinues the impost of 50 per cent, on Canadian goods. Abrogation would impose a general tariff, and an exchange dumping duty, making the tariff on Japanese goods the highest on goods entering Canada:.
