FINANCES FOR THE PAST YEAR.
DECREASE IN LEVY RECEIPTS.

The report of the Dairy Control Board for the year ended July 31 last states that, as was to be expected, the total levy collected on butter and cheese exported showed a decline, due to shrinkage in production. There was collected £77,148 8s 9d, and) interest firom investments yielded £490 3s 9d, making a total income of £77,638 12s Get. Expenses showed: Cost of management of the head office at Wellington £5972 16s 2d, London office £7026 12s 3d, exchange on remittances to London for advertising and', .office expenses was £11,14.1 12s Id, expenditure on shipping and supervision shipping work at branches, expenses of the meeting of the Dairy Export Board absorbed £11,805 13s 9d, dairy research at Massey College £4900, subsidy to Cawthron Institute £2lO, advertising in Britain £36,417 4s 2d, making m total expenditure of £77,473 18s sd.
