When tussock fires burned the transmission poles on the high country near Waipori last night-, there was a failure of power in some districts and city tor 55 minutes, though the light m the main streets and at the hospital were restored in, five minutes. For the first time Waitaki power was brought m, till the burned power lines wei« restored this morning.
