PROBATION GRANTED

NEGLIGENT DRIVING CHARGE. (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, August 27. Found guilty, with a strong recommendation. to mercy, of negligent driving and causing death, John Henry Mnhood, aged 24, was placed on probation for two years by Mr Justice Callan to-day. A special condition was made that he should pay the cost of the prosecution (.C27) during that period. His Honor remarked that it was not a ease of wild driving in a powerful car. Mahood had been led into trouble by his associates. He should have more character and show more wisdom in choosing his friends.
