THE FIRST TEST IN AFRICA. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, August 26. Australia won the first tennis test match against South Africa, at Johannesburg, by six matches to nil. Details:— Crawford defeated Kirby, <|-4, 6-4; Quist defeated Farquharson, 6-2, 6-2. Crawford and Quist defeated Farquliarson and Musgrove, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
AMERICAN NATIONAL DOUBLES.
(Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) NEW YORK, August 26. In the finals of the National lawn tennis doubles at Brookline, Allison and Van Ryn defeated Budge and Mako, 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 2-6, 6-1. Perry is seeded first among the visiting players in the draw for the United States singes championships, starting at Forest Hills on Thursday.
