SCHACHT AND ANTI-SEMITISM.
RECENT SPEECH CIRCULATED
(United Press Association— Copyright) BER LIN, August 20.
Dr. H. Schacht (Minister of Economics) 'defeated the Kazi censoiship by circulating privately to hanks anc. business houses an unexpurgated version if his recent warning speech. Business men were surprised at the force of his attack against the anti-Jewish campaign. * . . Meanwhile, Herr Julius Streiclier continues the campaign. He said, atMagdeburg: u lt there is a God, the most glorious German nation will overwhelm its mortal enemy.”
In recent weeks the quarrel between Dr. Bchaclit and other conservative Ministers on the one side, and the more extreme Ministers headed by Mr D. J. Goebbels on the other, has been coming to a head. Dr. Schacht protests to Herr Hitler about the anti-Jewish campaign, and was snubbed. Dr. Schacht then made a speech attacking the lead ers of the campaign, which he considered likely to damage Germany s foreign trade position, but Dr, Goebbels censored this.
