FLOODS IN THE NILE
A RECORD INUNDATION.
STRENGTHENING THE BANKS. CAIRO, August 26. The Nile continues to rise, and it is certain there will bo a record flood. The Government has voted an extra credit of £75,000 toward the cost of strengthening the banks. Precautions are being taken to prevent the flooding of the streets when the waters reach Cairo in a couple of days.
