COUNTY CENTRES

(From Our Own Correspondents.)

HINDS. There was a large attendance at the Hinds Miniature Rifle Club ball, held in the hall last evening. An enjoyable time was spent by all. Visitors were present from Ashburton and the suirounding districts. The hall was decorated with red and green streamers, and greenery was tastefully placed round the walls. The music was supplied by Cook’s orchestra. (Methyen), and an extra was played by Miss A. Morris. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr Houston and Miss Horton, and the Monte Carlo one-step was won by Mill.‘McGregor and Mrs J. Hall. Mr J. Hall was M.C.
