“LEARN TO ROUGH IT.”

AMERICAN BOXING ADVICE,

An insight to what is expected of an American prizefighter is given in a recent issue of “The Ring,” in which the editor, Mr Nat Fleischer, hands out some advice to Ray Impellitiere, an American-Italian boxer of Primo Camera’s physical proportions. Impellitiere and Camera recently met in a “battle of behemoths” in the course of the elimination series to find a challenger for Baer’s title. Camera won the fight, but the Madison Square Garden officials had 1 already made it plain, that they had no intention or giving him another opportunity tocioss swords with Baer, to whom lie lost the title in June of last year. ' After the bout Impellitiere s manager, Harry Lenny, complained that Camera bore down his man by i°ul tactics, hitting with the wrists, forearms, and shoulders, and roughing lnm around the ring. . . “While true, the complaint is no excuse to offer for Ray’s defeat,” writes Fleischer. “Ray had the same opportunity as Primo to rough it, it he left he was. being manhandled by his opparent but, instead, he apparently elected to be the good hoy, and suffered accordingly.
