Joseph Chamberlain, son of Sir Austen Chamberlain, who is serving with the Transjordan Frontier Force, is reported to have been captured by Wahabis while on a pleasure excursion with a patrol in Hedjaz territory. The “Sunday Express’ ’ lias been informed that Lieutenant Chamberlain was in charge of two Army transport cars last Sunday, when he inadvertently crossed the frontier, and was detained. A Foreign Office official told the “Sunday Times” that the land was all dlesert and there was nothing to mark the border. It *was really a comedy of errors, and there was no ill-feeling. An Amman message says that Lieutenant Chamberlain’s release has been arranged through diplomatic channels.
