THREE AEROPLANES
PURCHASE FOR NEWi ZEALAND. TEN TO FOURTEEN PASSENGERS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. An announcement was made to-day, on behalf of Union Airways, of the purchase of three four - engined de Havillaiid express air-liners for the mail and passenger service between Palmerston, Blenheim, Christchurch, and Dunedin, which, it is expected', will ho commenced ini December. 'The DHB6 has accommodation for from 10 to 14 passengers, in addition of the crew of two pilots, with baggage and mail space of 590 cubic feet. It is powered with four 200-h.p. Gipsy Sixes, and it is able to maintain, height on any two engines. It has ample range for any New Zealand requirements and! is provided with complete navigational equipment. Delivery of the first two ’planes will be made in September, and the third .one in October.
