INVITATION ACCEPTED

THE REV. G. B. HINTON. A CALL TO INVERCARGILL. The Rev. G. B. Hinton (superintendent minister of the Ashburton Methodist Circuit) has accepted a unanimous invitation to the superintendence’ of St. Peter’s Methodist Church, Invercargill. This is a church of the same status as Baring Square, Ashburton, with a good congregation and many activities. A special feature is its young life with six Bible Classes and a large Sunday School, while it is particularly free from financial burdens. St. Peter’s congregation is justly proud of the church’s position, offering scope as it does lor an energetic, ministry. Both the church and Mr Hinton are to be congratulated upon the call and its acceptance. Mr Hinton will complete five years in Ashburton next April and he will then proceed to his now appointment. Prior to coming to Ashburton, Mr Hinton was stationed at circuits in Dunedin, Auckland, Taranaki and London. He has been 23 years in the ministry of tire Methodist church. He is president of tlie Ashburton Ministers’ Association and of the Ashburton No-Licenso Council. The Rev. Angus McEcan, of Mount Albert, Auckland, lias accepted an invitation to succeed Mr Hinton in Ashburton.
