CROQUET.

THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The annual meeting of the Ashburton Croquet Club >was concluded after 1 the "Guardian" went to press.on Saturday afternoon. The president (Mrs A. Lane) presided. It was decided that Mrs W.. H. Amos' s offer of a cup for an intermediate section be accepted and such a section be formed. The bisques will be from 5 to 6|. The championships in the coming season will be club (senior)), intermediate and junior. It was agreed that Saturday play for trophies should be the same as that last season. The handicap singles will also be played in three grades. The club resolved to donate. £2 2s to the relief of distress. The customary votes of thanks were passed to the officers.
