CANZONERI BEATS AMBERS, NEW YORK, May 10. Tony Canzoneri gained the decision over Lou Ambers in a fifteen-round bout, and won New York recognition as light-weight champion of the world. AMBROSE PALMER ON THE WARPATH AGAIN. Ten days' complete rest and freedom from the mental strain he was under in Sydney have worked wonders m Ambrose Palmer's condition (says the "Sydney Referee" of April 18). Although during the latter part ot last week Palmer's condition had considerably improved, he went on with his original intention to have a complete overhaul. On Monday, Dr. Leonard B. Cox, eminent Collins Street specialist, examined Palmer. He reported that Palmer is physically sound. His examination was thoroughheart, lungs, blood pressure, and general condition were all tested. At the conclusion of the examination, Dr. Cox expressed the opinion that mental exhansion was the cause of Palmer's

breakdown. He stated s**>*** desired, the champion could fightnext week, but about a fortnight's complete rest would be advisable Dr Cox said that Palmer had the most perfect teeth he had examined during the past 12 months Palmei informed the doctor that he had nevei used a mouth guard. The doctor examined Palmer s eye, but did not advise special treatment. After the examination, Palmer informed "The Referee" that he would rest for a few weeks, meanwhile having his hands treated by a specialist. He would then prepare to meet the importations arriving here from America for Leichardt Stadium. After that, his plans would depend on conditions in Australia compared with England. Asked if he would fight Henneberry at Sydnev Stadium, Palmer replied:— -'Let Henneberry fight Carroll. The winner of that contest would look good to me."
