THE COMBINED TEAM; ALTERATION FOR WEDNESDAY. / G. King (South Canterbury), who was selected as half-back in the combined Ashburton-South Canterbury Rugby football team to meet a Canterbury team in Ashburton on Wednesday, did not pass the medical examination, and will l be replaced in the team by T. Gates (Ashburton). EASTERN MIDGET TEAM. The Ashburton East, Convent and Tinwald midget team to play the Borough and Allenton combined midgets at the Domain Oval on Wednesday at 1.45 p.m., as a curtain-raiser to the trial match, will be selected from: — Backs—S. Reid, C. Reeves, O. Dewar, Trevor Child's, Alan Wyllie, Trevor Hume, Gerald Strange (East), S. Loach (Tinwald), N. Fox, Jim Sullivan, J. McCosker, R. Purcell, G. Davidson (Convent). Forwards—Des Childs, S. Tutty, .K. Tutty. Fred Betts, Jan Kenny; Jim Nicholls, Russell Norrish, Dave Smith (East), J. Bell (Tinwald), Jack Hurley, Jack Sullivan, L. McDonald, R. Good, J. Ellis '(Convent). A practice will be held at the Domain to-morrow, when the final team will be selected.
