SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.

FIXTURES FOR TO-MORROW There will be the usual series of winter sports fixtures in Ashburton tomorrow. Rugby football matches will be played at the Showgrounds, the senior game being that between Rakaia and Old Boys. Basketball and men’s and women’s hockey competitions will be continued in the Domain.

Members of the Ashburton Golf Club will play medal matches '(senior 1 and junior) on the links.

The opening meet of the hunting season will be held to-morrow by the Ashburton branch of the Christchurch Hunt Club. The hounds will meet at Stringfellow’s corner, on the Mitcham Road, and an area of suitable country has been mapped out for the run.
